Adventures and misadventures in France.

About

In February of 2013 I made the jump across la mer to live and work in the Loire Valley of France. I’ll be posting anecdotes for my family and friends about food, travel, culture, and daily life in a rural village.

    Lovely little village!!

  2. Thanks for checking out my blog! It’s funny, we have exactly the same toy (in yellow) for our dog – a French bulldog. He’s mad about it!

That’s hilarious! He actually destroyed that toy a couple of days later. Now we stick mostly to tennis balls and kong toys, which are more durable!

      • Thanks for tip – our Frenchie has already destroyed a couple of the others (and worse, gotten pieces of them stuck in his throat!) So I’ll definitely check out Kongs!

  7. I’m delighted I came across your site and was wondering if you or any of your readers can give me some advice about recruitment in France. I’m working for a company that is looking to expand into multiple cities across France, including Nantes, Montpellier, Toulouse and was wondering if anyone had any advice on the best places to advertise locally. We are looking for English speaking businessmanagers so any advice would be greatly appreciated. We’ve advertised on Linkedin and Monster.com but haven’t had much luck attracting the right applicants.

I would be happy to answer your recrutement question! I’ve only assisted with some limited HR work in our office. From what I’ve seen, people use Viadao a lot (similar to LinkedIn) for professional networking, and Pole-emploi.fr / APEC.fr / RegionsJob.fr for job listings. There are likely websites that exist for your particular field as well, if you keep searching. Good luck, and thanks for checking out my site!

  8. Thank you very much for your help and devoted time, any other info that you have and you would like to exchange, you can send to barrymurphy@hogoglobal.com and this is our website hogoproservices.com. You have a lovely site, keep up the good work
